Owo Recreation Club Gets New Executive Committee For 2025 Club Year
The above-named noble club had its Annual General Meeting ( AGM) on Friday ,28th December ,2024. It was a huge success for the outgone Executive Team under the watch of Mr Akarakiri whose tenure also expired accordingly.
The election into the club vacant positions was subsequently held without any further delay on Saturday ,29th December 2024 as there was no room for interregnum in the club's constitution. The following members were duly elected to fill the various portfolios n a free, fair, transparent and credible election :
1. Ch. Rotimi Duromola Abodi - President
2. Mr. Faremi, V.A - Vice-President
3. Otunba Adeniyi - Gen. Secretary
4. Engr. Comrade Rafiu O. Ijawoye - PRO & Social/Sports Secretary
5. Mr. Sowetan Dele - Bar Secretary
6. Mr. Balogun Olaniran - Facility secretary
The president-Elect, Ch. Rotimi Duromola Abodi in his Acceptance Speech congratulated the new officers as he charged them to be alive to their constitutional obligations so as to collectively take the club to an enviable height. He did express his satisfaction as regards the results of the credible election while thanking the Electoral Committee Chairman for a work well done.
Abodi also saluted the courage of his predecessors and lauded their sterling scorecards. However ,he pledged to bit their records noting that he would kindly solicit maximum cooperation of all members so as to deliver excellently on his promises.

GREAT!!
I thank every member of this noble Club that voted for me in the just concluded election.I have the burning desire to occupy the enviable position of the PRESIDENT in order to make the necessary changes required to take the Club to it's expected plateau. Today my aspiration is achieved and I cannot but be grateful to you all for your quality support.
While commending the giant strides of the previous regimes, my job here is to add great value to what they have achieved all this while and further lay a solid foundation by developing my own strategies capable of surpassing their track records over the years.
Distinguished members, part of my agenda is to ensure the admission of more decent and responsible men of impeccable character after thorough screening as members of this Club. Our interest is to mobilize more resourceful members and encourage old members that have left or gone passive to come back for whatever may be their excuses of leaving or inactiveness in the first place.
Funds will be mobilized using of network and circuit of influence of ours so as to speedily by execute all the different projects at hand,and those in views just like it was done in the past.
The signpost at the junction to the Club from the main dualized road will be earnestly re-constructed and strategically positioned to further launder our image as a club through publicity. We shall further pursue the following agenda:
a) UNITY OF MEMBERS
In unity we are stronger but in division we are weaker. Our energy therefore shall be deployed to fostering uncommon unity among our members. The perceived dichotomy or groupings in the Club will be disabused at all costs for better engagement of members for more productive engagement ,initiatives and innovation. Any aggrieved member shall be reconciled with the Club. Each member of the Executive Committee under my watch will be given free hand ✋t o operate as provided for in our sacred constitution, except where an officer is found wanting in performing his/her official duties.
b) TRANSPARENT AND ACCOUNTABLE LEADERSHIP
Transparency and accountability will be our watchwords . There will be timely reports on all sales and transactions as well as profits generated periodically while constructive criticism will be welcomed from members for robust engagement and quality administration.
c) WELFARISM
I wish to establish a Health Committee to handle our Medical Department as the overall welfare of our members shall be the topmost priority of our administration. Health they say is wealth .
We also plan to engage some of our members who are medical practitioners to constantly help organize Health Talk and Orientation Campaign on monthly basis for 2-Day Medical Retreat & Check-up for members. This will go a long way to attend to their medical awareness and boost their medical needs.
d) REVENUE DRIVE
Distinguished members, as President, I will put in place necessary mechanism for revenue mobilization and allocation. This is the most critical assignment before us. Every member shall be encouraged to help with ideas and suggestions as well as drawing scale of preference for our pressing needs. We shall bring to bear our fiscal discipline and administrative acumen for a rewarding result.
e) FIRST 100-DAY ACHIEVEMENTS
Part of my visions is for us to achieve the following goals within the first 100 days in office:
(i) Provision Security 🏠 Post
(ii) Erection of the Club House Gate
(iii) Installation of Solar Lights
(iv) Procurement of new digital TV sets
Finally, we pledge to uphold the entire provisions of our Club's Constitution for effective administration and efficient service delivery during my tenure God helping me
