National, State Or Local Protest; Count Us Out… Owo North West Youths And Stakeholders Vow To Resist Any EXTERNAL Forces Planning To Disrupt Peace And Tranquility In The Entire LCDA

The Chairman of Owo North-West LCDA, Chief Alaba Eniola - Ajipe today on Wednesday 31st August ,2024 called a meeting of the various youths and other stakeholders in the LCDA to discuss and see reasons why the peace that has pervaded the entire LCDA must be sustained. The Chairman while addressing the Representatives of the various youths in the LCDA enjoined them to shun any act that is capable of disrupting the peace of the LCDA, Ondo State and the nation at large.

The Chairman reiterated the commitment of the governments at all levels towards ameliorating the suffering of the masses. "Government has put in place measures aimed at reducing the exorbitant prices of food items currently experienced in the Country…,With the removal of import duties on foodstuffs as directed by President Ahmed Tinubu, the prices of foodstuffs will crash in the next few weeks. The Tinubu-led federal government has also directed that crude oil be sold to Dangote in naira. The cost of Petrol will also crash astronomically thereby reducing transportation fares". Chief Eniola - Ajipe said all these measures are geared towards making life meaningful to the masses.

The  Chairman said in as much as protest is a constitutional right of the Citizens, the protesters should be weary of those who might want to come outside the LCDA and hide behind the protest to cause havoc and cause chaos in the LCDA . Disgruntled elements and evil-minded people are known by faces therefore the protest should not be allowed in the entire Owo North West LCDA. According to the Chairman, dialogue is the best approach to resolving conflicts. Government is ready to dialogue with every interest group to see that Nigeria is habitable to all.

The Transition Committee Chairman also appealed to the youths to get involved in the Renew Hope Agenda of the government. He equally told the stakeholders in the meeting about the commitment of the Mr governor, His Excellency, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa geared towards making  life meaningful to all citizens of Ondo state. In his words, "The Governor has brought development to our door steps through the creation of this LCDA. Our Governor believes in grassroots development, and wants all of us to participate in the development of our dear state therefore we should guide this opportunity jealously."

The Chairman therefore appealed to the youths and the stakeholders present to give the government time to deliver on its promises rather than going on protest that will compound existing problems.

In their response, the youths appreciated the Chairman for the parley meeting ."This is a big opportunity for us as we can sit face to face with the chairman that means the government is at our door steps.", said one of the critical stakeholder.

One after the other, they pledge their  unalloyed loyalty to the chairman as a grassroots politician. The youths and stakeholders of the LCDA also expressed support to the course of Mr. Governor to make sure the LCDA in particular and the entire State at large are peaceful especially as the State is warming up for gubernatorial election in November this year.

Members of the NURTW in their message thanked the governor for the reinstatement of the LCDA as they said they wee ready to cooperate with the chairman to  make Owo North West a model among the LCDAs in Ondo state. In their message, the spokesman of the union said, "Mr Chairman, tell our Governor that Owo North-West LCDA will continue to be the most peaceful LCDA in the state. We say no to protest of any kind as we believe the government will surely deliver on its promises."  They appealed to the government to look into the needs of the citizens to make lives bearable for all.

The Chairman through one of the Transition Committee Members, Comrade Odunayo Famusiwa appreciated the youths and the stakeholders for their attendance and their support to see that Owo North West LCDA is peaceful and violence free.
