The PDP ,Owo LG Chapter received with hearty gratitude the appointment of Arc. Sadiq Obanoyen as the Caretaker Chairman of the party in Ekiti State as contained in the Press Release issued by Barr. Debo Ologunagba, its National Publicity Secretary.
The PDP Chairman , Owo LG Chapter ,High Ch. Idris Okeowo Olafimihan -Asaba while congratulating Arc. Sadiq Oluwole Obanoyen on the political blue ribbon appeal to him never to chase butterfly with his new office. " This is a huge recognition of your political relevance, sagacity and acumen as a season politician. I therefore charge you to live above board with your new portfolio. We look forward to you just like all critical PDP stakeholders and supporters in Ekiti State for quality service delivery as we make date with history in the forthcoming elections."
Asaba on behalf of the entire PDP members in Owo LGA also prays God for guidance and directions for Obanoyen while also wishing him success in his new office ." May Almighty Allah give you knowledge, wisdom and understanding to lead alright and bring love, unity and peace into the PDP in Ekiti State."
He therefore congratulates Ondo PDP family especially those in Ondo North and in Owo LGA in particular for the new feather to Obanoyen's political cap.
Arc. Sadiq Obanoyen is a great strategist and tactician who has served the PDP in various capacities. He was, among other things, once Chairman, Local Government Service Commission and the PDP candidate for Owo/Ose Federal Constituency in 2019 general elections as well as the Secretary of Reconciliation Committee for Ondo South Senatorial District and the Director of Campaign for Ondo North Senatorial Campaign Council set up by Akogun Adetokunbo Modupe TOKS,the PDP candidate for Ondo North Senatorial District in 2023. Previously he was the Local Government Secretary of Labour Party (LP) and member , Ondo State Property Board during the regime of Gov. Olusegun Rahman Mimiko .
He was also the Director of Finance to Senator Bode Olajumoke Campaign Organization in 2015 before his appointment as Special Assistant to the Deputy Senate President,8th Assemby,Sen. Ike Ekweremado between 2015 through 2019.
Obanoyen's appointment comes as a result of the dissolution of the Executive Officers in Ekiti State. The Press Release reads as follows:

PDP Dissolves Ekiti State Executive Committee, Sets Up Caretaker Committee.
Following the recent developments in the Ekiti State Chapter of our great Party, the National Working Committee (NWC), after careful deliberations and extensive consultations, on behalf of the National Executive Committee (NEC) and pursuant to Sections 29(2)(b) and 31(2)(e) of the Constitution of the PDP (as amended in 2017), has dissolved the PDP Ekiti State Executive Committee with immediate effect.
In its place the NWC, on behalf of NEC has approved the appointment of Ekiti State Caretaker Committee to run the affairs of the Party in the State for a period of three (3) months effective from today Friday, January 20, 2023 and to function pursuant to Section 24(2) of the PDP Constitution (as amended in 2017).
The NWC also approved the appointment of Arch. Sadiq Obanoyen as Chairman of the PDP Ekiti State Caretaker Committee.
The PDP urges all leaders, critical stakeholders and teeming members of our Party in Ekiti State to remain united and focused on the task ahead.
