It Is The Turn Of Owo To Produce The Next Senator In Ondo North; Owo Youths For TOKS Cries Out

What becomes of Owo politically after Aketi's tenure?

If we make the same mistake by putting religion or political party first when electing our leaders, instead of competency and the capacity to drive home good governance, we shall get the same old result that will continue to leave us in a precarious situation as it is today.

Yes, our major problem stems from the fact that we have failed to elect credible leaders to positions of authority; mainly because we've turned a blind eye towards scrutinizing them based on their merits and abilities to deliver, and instead judged or voted for them based on the ethnic solidarity, religious and party sentiments.

If we continue this way as a kingdom, we'll not get it right. We'll continue to run around in circles. This is why we have a Senator that spent over eleven years without any meaningful human capacity impacts on the lives of our people and a legislator who cannot sponsor a bill, who can not address other legislators on issues affecting his constituents and subjects, but would rather read a passage of prepared words to us now and then.

Our people have suffered so much at the hands of incompetent leaders. We need to make a change and the right time is now.

Unarguably, Akoko had been representing us in the Red Chamber in the last eleven and a half years and now nothing is bad if the baton is switched to Owo/Ose federal constituency to a man who can do it better to represent Ondo North senatorial district. Taking a bird eye view of the political balance sheet of the district of late, it is crystal clear that Owo deserve in a non negotiable term the seat of the Senate.

I know, too many with their myopic thinking and self desired interest would say how can we have a sitting governor from Owo and be eyeing the Senate at the same time? Let me quickly bring to the knowledge of those who cares to know that the seat of the governor is contestable by any qualify indigene of the state irregardless of his or her district but the Senate is a political heritage of the six local governments that made up the district and the doctrine of equity and fairness must be observed.

Over these past months, the public and we youths have had the opportunity to observe and evaluate the perspectives and agendas of the various candidates in the upcoming elections and taking a cursory look into the antecedents of the Ondo North senatorial candidate of the People's Democratic Party, PDP, Akogun Adetokunbo Modupe Olanrewaju, his honest, pragmatic, and hopeful insight into our community's problems and needs, and his willingness to examine the issues and listen closely to the public's questions and concerns, sets him far apart from the other candidates' expected techniques and talk, and so we are writing today to express our support for his campaign and our intention both to vote for him in the upcoming elections and to spread word to others of the value of his policies and abilities.

This issue of Senate goes beyond party affiliations or lineages but it is a community agenda that we need to pursue with all sense of seriousness and genuine consciousness. Tell it to the old and young that it is Owo turn to produce the next Senator that will represent us in the 10th Assembly and together, we can do it.

Let us all vote for TPT across party line so that Owo can be on sound footing politically after the expiration of Aketi's tenure.

Ogho a gbe gede wa oooooooo.
