The foundation of the Nigeria state was once again this Sunday shaken with the masacre of innocent congregants at St. Francis Catholic, Owaluwa in the ancient town of Owo in Ondo State.

Worried by the death tolls and the number of casualties recorded during the attack,a  deluge of condolence messages has awash the media space from all notable statesmen, critical stakeholders , religious bodies, corporate organizations and institutions, government top functionaries politicians and individuals across all divides in sympathy with the Catholic Families , the injured and the families of the deceased, the government of Ondo State and the entire people of the community now soaked in agony.

The PDP Candidate for Owo/Ose Federal Constituency in the 2023 election who doubles as former Deputy Speaker of Ondo State House Assembly , Rt. Hon. Ayo Arowele -a son of the soil paid a condolences visit to the palace in the early hour of today to sympathize with HIM, Oba Ajibade Gbadegesi Ogunoye (III) and the entire people of the town over the callous, repressive, wicked and condemnable act of terrorism.

Speaking before the monarch, Arowele condemned in strong terms such heinous crime against humanity that tipped the community into grave mourning and left the peace and transquility of the kingdom shattered. He however charged the government and the security personnel to keep on their toes to bring the wicked perpetrators to book; and the Kabiyesi to work with critical stakeholders to mobilize local strategies and support   to beef up security in the area.


Through High Ch. (Barr.) Kunle Ijalana Adanigbo, the Director General of his  Campaign Organization, Hon. Arowele made a huge donation to the palace to help take care of the victims and the emergency associated with the unfortunate bloodshed by the die-hard and heartless gunmen with obscured identities .

Oba Ajibade Ogunoye who was greatly traumatized by the unfortunate human carnage appreciated the seasoned lawmaker and pledged to work with the security operatives to beef up security in the town and make the culprits face the full wrath of the law while ensuring protection of his subjects ; safety and wellness of the victims and their families in addition to the security of their property.


Arowele later visited the family of Mama Alakara( The beancake seller) at their family house adjacent St. Andrew Anglican Church Imola where he also expressed his grief over the unfortunate and sudden death of the woman while sympathizing with her children.

According to him, he painfully said from a heavy heart ," Your mother was a good woman , and a good example of exemplary womanhood. The news of her death is so devastating so are that of other members  of the Catholic Church in the gruesome mass murder."

He further consoled," I share in the agony of the Lord Bishop of the Catholic Church and their entire body of priests. My hearts and prayers are truly with the families of the departed souls for God to grant them all the fortitude to bear the huge loss while wishing the deceased  perfect peace in eternity and the injured speedy recovery."

Other personalities in his entourage were Hon. Gbenga Aro, Mr Osennuwa (Opolo), Mr Kayode Arowele , Mr Taye Ogunmolawa and Hon. Nasirudeen I. Boboye-Ijawoye and a few others.
