The PDP candidate for Owo Constituency (II) seat in the State House of Assembly has condemned the heinous killing of church members by gunmen at St. Francis Catholic Church ,Ogwaluwa in the ancient community in the early hours of today during Sunday Mass.
This unfortunate incident occurred while unknown gunmen and kidnappers widely believed to be Fulani terrorists were trying to abduct the Reverend Father of the Catholic Parish.
His condolences message reads in part," Our hearts go out to the entire family of the victims of this heinous crime again humanity.
This masacre is very unfortunate as it's a direct frontal attack on the peace and transquility in the kingdom. I therefore strongly condemn it while charging our Security personnel to swing into action to ensure that the perpetrators of this dastardly act are made to face the full wrath of law.
The prevailing situation on our hands is too horrible. The gory scene with the huge number of the dead and casualties is sickening. I'm in a great anguish as my heart bleeds . This unfortunate holocaust is truly not welcomed as we described it as barbaric, wicked , inhumane and a serious crime again humanity being an act of inhumanity of man to man.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the wounded wishing them speedy recovery and the dead invoking God Almighty to give them peacefully rest in His bosom.
To the entire body of Catholic Church under Bishop Jude , our sympathy are with you all. May you never witness a calamity like this in the body of Christ Jesus
I therefore call on all critical stakeholders in the kingdom to rise up to the occasion to ensure peace and transquility return to the kingdom in no distant time.
My sympathy is with the Kabiyesi , HIM ,Oba Ajibade Gbadegesi Ogunoye III and the entire good people of Owo Kingdom over this huge loss. May God Almighty gives us the fortitude required at this critical moment to bear this monumental loss that is irreparable.
May the souls of the departed rest in peace ."
He however appeals to the youths and other critical stakeholders in the kingdom to avoid the temptation of any reprisal attack as our security personnel are on top of the situation and that vengeance is of God Almighty.
