The primary election was won with landslide by Akogun Adetokunbo Modupe (TOKS) of Ose LGA who pulled one hundred and twenty-four (124) votes to defeat his political opponent ,Mr Foluso Mayowa Adefemi (FMA) who also pulled ninety-three (93) votes but one vote was recorded as void .

The primary election which took place at Ademo's Event Centre ,along Emure-Owo Road was keenly contested between two political heavyweights (FMA and TPT) from Ese-Afen of Akoko South-East and Ose LGAs respectively. The primary involved six local government areas of Akoko North-East, Akoko North-West, Akoko South-East, Akoko South-West, Ose and Owo.Two hundred and nineteen (219) delegates were to participate in the election ,but two hundred and seventeen (217) delegates eventually were accredited as two were absent.
Akogun Adetokunbo Modupe (TPT) , a refined public relations experts and highly cerebral resource person was in 2015 the Director General of Jonathan/Sambo Campaign Organization in Ondo State.He has served the party in various capacities but was an Ex-Officio member of South-West Zonal Executive Committee of PDP until recently. TPT was noticed in the political circle of Ondo State in 2006 when he supported Dr Olusegun Mimiko in the Labour Party. He was the brain behind the Dome, an international event centre in the state built and commissioned by the Mimiko-led administration. He is articulate, fearless, cosmopolitan, experienced, humane, empathic ,throughly bred, visionary as an administrator, manager, politician and democrat.

This primary result of the PDP has done nothing but regularize the political balance sheet in Ondo North Senatorial District. In 1999, Late Ayo Lawrence from Owo defeated Late Mrs Olufolaji of the PDP from Akoko. The same thing was repeated in 2003 in the election which was won by Sen. Titus Olupitan of AD from Owo . However, in 2007, Dr Bode Olajumoke of Ose LGA defeated Alhaji Ali Olanusi and Barr. Tokunbo Kayode (TK) of Akoko to become the Senator . However, in 2011, Dr Olajumoke , the incumbent Senator was defeated by Prof. Ajayi Borofice of the Labour Party.

The Asiwaju of Akoko ,Sen. Borofice shortly after defected to ACN which later became APC where he won Sen. Bode Olajumoke for the second time. However, despite the political tipsy-turpzy of the Akeredolu's AA with Barr. Tunji Abayomi as Senatorial Candidate, Borofice defeated him and OPA of the PDP to become the Senator on third term. With the forgoing analysis, Akoko has done three terms and Owo/Ose has done three terms too. In Owo/Ose axis, Owo ( Iyere and Ipele) did 8 years out of the the 12 years. It's only fair to start the next round of representation from Ose LGA. This is obviously what the PDP has done in this keenly contested primary. IF ANYTHING AGAIN, THIS IS AN OPEN SUPPORT FOR A LOYAL PARTY MAN WHO HAS SACRIFICED BEYOND ANY IOTA OF DOUBT FOR THE PDP FOR HIS UNFORTUNATE LOSS ON AKOKO AGENDA IN 2019.

Again, the victory of TPT is described by many political stalwarts, public affairs analysts, opinion leaders, critical stakeholders and newsmen as well as politicians across the different political divides as the best thing to have happened to the opposition party.Again,this informed decision of the PDP has seriously unsettles the camp of the governor , Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN in Owo LGA particularly.
As it's now, all is setto lock horns with the ruling APC by the leading opposition party, PDP as the governor and his party will have to do a yeoman's job to defeat TPT, Rt. Hon. Ayodeji Samuel Arowele- the PDP Candidate-Elect for Owo/Ose Federal Constituency, and the duo of Ch. Adebayo Ibrahim Adafen Olomiyete ( Abbey ShopRite) and Comr. Ajanaku Kehinde who are PDP candidates for Owo Constituency I and II.
As gathered from the grapevines by Abejoye Media, if Mr Ipinshagba emerges as the Senatorial Candidate of the APC due to rumours making round within the APC family, then it will be a great political fireworks in the district. Ipinshagba had contested severally in past for the Senate in PDP before he defected to APC before the 2016 gubernatorial election due to Gbasibe/Konigba dicotomy.

The future is pregnant with an lot of expectations,hope and intrigues. The political twists in the district shall be phenomenal with side attractions as the incumbent governor and APC will soon test serious political waters with the current crisis rocking the party in the district internally and the current prevailing challenges /situations of the nation confronting Nigerians under the watch of APC.
Only time will tell. The entire world is watching keenly as events unfold .
