Few days ago ,our allegations of purported imposition of candidates and impunity of some party leaders were awash the media space noting strongly that the Executive Governor of the State who doubles as the leader of our great party, the APC should douse tensions by assuring all aspirants of level playing field .
True to our expectations, our dearest Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu,SAN, a political Pathfinder and fearless political general and highly cerebral activist of repute rose to the occasion and summoned a meeting with all APC aspirants in Ondo state . Dr Abiola Oshodi and the Dr AbIola Oshodi Campaign Organization are glad to receive the good news and the plea made to the party hierachies and aspirants today at the Cocoa Conference Hall of the Government House by His excellency Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN).
Like we submitted,our dear governor and the Indefatigable State Chairman of APC in Ondo State, Hon. Ade Adetimehin ,a political giant with laurels to his credit have jointly made it abundantly clear , without any doubt,assured all the aspirants jostling for the various elective positions, that a level playing field will be provided for all ASPIRANTS during the forthcoming party primaries. This step gladdens our hearts ,as it is a welcomed development to all lovers of democracy.
Again, be as it may, the appeal made by the industrious governor is greatly applauded. His courage is saluted too as he openly declared that he has no anointed candidate for any elective position. This is an assurance that every aspirant should intensify their mobilization of support and canvass for delegates and grassroot support . This is heart warming to us all as critical stakeholders with huge investments in the political party.
We are, in fact ,grateful to our amiable Arakunrin for hitting the nail on the head. His directive that all serving lawmakers should assess and reassess themselves personally and by presenting their scorecards before the electorates to revalidate their support is phenomenal. This is, by the way, a clear message to all that the party candidates shall be elected based on their polished antecedents, undisputed popularity and genuine acceptability.
We ,in our camp, while appreciating the amiable and workaholic governor, pledge to play the game by the rules as law-abiding individuals and lovers of our great party, the APC. As such ,we shall obey the Clarion Call of our party hierarchy and leadership for Peaceful Conduct and Cohesion among the aspirants as long as the primaries last, and we are satisfied that a level playing field is indeed operationalized during the forthcoming party primaries.
We seriously believe in the leadership of our party and its capacity to deliver on promises. Our camp believes that the party leadership has the utmost right and the constitutional obligation to drive the process. However,we strongly appeal to the governor and the State Chairman and the APC national executives to live up to expectations in this regard by making it impossible for any individual irrespective of status and stature to manipulate the process to their advantage .
The forthcoming APC primaries provide another opportunity to test the integrity and character of our distinguished leaders , to deliver on their promises , though May be stressed and strained to their elastic limits. It shall UNARGUABLY be toughened, but our great party and our country will be the ultimate winner in a free and fair electoral contest .
With the note of assurance vehemently presented and the constant reiteration of due process, and level playing field , we remain hopeful that open, free, fair, credible, transparent and acceptable primaries shall be conducted to select the best candidates among the numerous aspirants.
Any meat that has fat shall prove it while it’s subjected to intense fire. The general poll shall surely be tested and will decide the strength of individual political parties and their candidates . So, popular, competent, capable and qualified candidates must be fielded by the political parties that keenly desire landslide victories at the polls .
We know the worth of , the political capital and treasures inherent in our principal. We are seriously in support of the process as our dying hope is buoyed up once again by our dear governor and the State Chairman of our party.
Leadership is all about responsiveness and responsibility. Our leaders are undoubtedly responsible and responsive by this giant stride. We are appreciative once again to our amiable governor for renewing our hope and confidence in the ongoing political process.
Congratulations to the APC family for this laudable achievement made.
With this action taken today,a decade and a generation is also shaped.
