Seek Lasting Solutions To The Crisis Affecting The Institution
ODHA Majority Leader, Honourable Oluwole Emmanuel Ogunmolasuyi (WEST) early this morning met with NASU and SSANIP of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic ,Owo for peace talk aimed at ending the strike action embarked upon by the staffers of the institution. In his efforts to find a long-lasting solution and convince the respective parties, the Majority Leader, Hon. Ogunmolasuyi West appealed to NASU and SSANIP members to halt the strike.
The academic activities of the school have been badly affected for a while, leaving administrative businesses of the school in comatose. The seasoned lawmaker urged the union members to resume full activities because of the future of the students and the incoming generations.
In his opinion, the Majority Leader said that he knew the plights of the unionists who were agitating for better welfare of their staff and conducive working environment.
Ogunmolasuyi, however, urged them that progress would only be possible when there is an understanding between the management and the unions. He appreciated them for their selfishness and resilience which have brought reckoning to RUGIPO among other tertiary institutions in Nigeria.
The ODHA Majority Leader is hopeful that the truce brokered will bring about peace and unity between the union members and the institution management.
In attendance at the meeting were Mr Chris Olowonade (SSANIP Chairman), Mr. Obayoriade Adebayo (NASU Chairman), and other distinguished stakeholders within the unions.
Signed:
Honorable Oluwole Emmanuel Ogunmolasuyi
