It was a unique ocassion today at the PDP Secretariat , Alagbaka, Akure where the grassroots mobilizer and astute politician,the Youth Leader of Owo LG Chapter of the PDP in Ondo State, Hon. Samuel Adeyeri (Ashami) picked his expression of interest and nomination form for the coveted seat of Member , House of Assemby for Owo Constituency (I) in a grand style.
The young , vibrant and agile political activist with impeccable records of meritorious service stormed the Secretariat with his retinue of families and friends as well as political associates and supporters as he picked his nomination form to formally register his readiness to run for the coveted seat.
While welcoming the political gladiator who have served the party meritoriously,the State Chairman of the party, Alhaji Fatai Adams described Hon. Eniola Samuel Shamrock as a core party man who is extremely loyal, faithful and committed servant-leader whose incurable enthusiasm to promote the party at all times is never in doubt. He further said he is a force to reckon with in Owo and Ondo State politics considering his antecedents. "Ashami ,to me, is a man with steam and drive capable of quality representation as MHA, I can vouch for his loyal" , he submitted finally.
In his reaction, Ashami appreciated all party leaders in attendance especially the State Chairman for their warmed reception and kind words. He made it known without mincing words that his aspiration for political office is borned out of his love for his constituents. He went ahead to paint the ugly shenanigans especially the poor representation now witnessed in Owo Constituency (I) under the ruling APC.
Hon. Adeyeri Samuel who is popularly known as Ashami is currently a business man and the owner of Shamrock Club and Bar at Oke-Ogun Road, Owo. He has served various political parties in different capacities from the ward levels to the local government. He started with UNCP ,AD AC ,LP and and now PDP as a two times Youth Leader since 2016.Under AC, he was a Councilorship candidate in 2007 and in Labour Party, he was a Supervisor for Internally Generated Revenues (IGR) in Owo Local Goverment Council.
Ashami is a known personality and a household name in the kingdom as his network of families, friends , and influence cut across different partitions , interests and divides. He is a worthy philanthropist with a large heart . He has etched his name in gold in hearts of the downtrodden,the weak and the underprivileged through his investment in humanity.
In his entourage to the PDP Secretariat , many Executive Officers of the party from Owo LGA especially in his constituency were seen . Among the political stalwarts and leaders were the Chairman of his ward, Ehin-Ogbe Ward (I), Hon. Ojo Bolanle popularly known as Alayamesan ,a former Honourable Councilor under Hon. Folahanmi Oluwole (Ultimate ) as the Executive Chairman of the council under PDP in 2016 through 2017. He was also followed by few members of his EXCOs.
Some local government Executive Committee members like the Secretary , Hon. Adebo Afolabi; the Publicity Secretary, Akogun Niyi Folahanmi and Mrs Yemisi Emmanuel among others were also parts of the entourage. It was a great ocassion to behold.
Other important party dignitaries a in attendance were Ch. Oronbato ,Chairman , Igboroko II Ward 3; Hon. Bola Olafmihan, Chairman and secretary,Mr Rasaq Olupona of Igboro I Ward 2 ; Mrs Balogun , Mrs Oladuni among other women leaders and Youth Leaders like Comr. Odeyemi Gbodi ,Youth Leader Igboroko 1 Ward 2; Comr. Adafin Aruna, Youth Leader ,Iloro Ward 6 and the Comr. Tosin Olayinka, Youth Leader of Ipenmen/Isuada/ Idasen/Obsooto Ward 9.
As it's now, the stage is set for the iconic aspirant to further network the delegates and canvass their votes for the primary that shall be conducted soon.
Ashami later paid homage the Owo LG PDP Chairman,a seasoned politician and Community Leader, High. Ch. Idris Okeowo Olafimihan-Asaba for his blessings on his return to Owo. Asaba described Samuel as a fine democrat and grassroots tactician and strategist who is a good ambassador of the PDP and Owo community. He thereafter declared," I'm happy you did the right thing by visit me. This is a great honour for me and the party here in Owo.
However ,Asaba enjoined the popular aspirant to play the game according to the rules. "Sportsmanship is a key factor; please relate well and peacefully with other aspirants. And remember that the vctory for our party is paramount." He therefore wished him success in the pursuit of his aspiration.
