According to the news reaching Abejoye Media, Sen. Adamu has sent in his resignation letter to the 9th Senate following his election as the National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) on March 26.
Until his appointment recently, Sen. Abdullahi Adamu was the senator representing Nasarawa North Senatorial District.
According to the erstwhile governor of Nasarawa state, Adamu maintained that his resignation takes effect from 1st April, 2022.
Adamu's letter of resignation was read on Tuesday by the Senate President, Dr Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan on Tuesday during the plenary.
In the letter , Adam lauded the purposeful and charismatic leadership of the highly cerebral Senate President, saying, “I commend you dear President for your forthright leadership epitomized by the quality treatment you always give to all Senators irrespective of political divides or interests.”
Until his resignation, Senator Abdullahi Adamu was a two-term governor of Nasarawa State and a third term Senator in the Senate.
With this registration from the Red Chamber, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is expected to conduct a by-election within a statutory period of three months to replace the distinguished Senator.
