United Star Club Breaks Silence after 17 Years, Celebrates Re-union In Grandstyle

On Saturday ,26th February 2022,a day after the celebration of the glorious exist of the esteemed former Treasurer of Emure-Ile Development Council (EDC), Pa Mathew Folorunso Fatukasi, the father of the incumbent Publicity Secretary of above-named Club, Engr. (Ch.) Ayorinde Kunle Fatukasi, the noble club's members celebrated their reunion after seventeen years of quiet partition and hibernation.

The ocassion which was well attended by the club members and a few invited guests was very colourful and remains an eye opener to other clubs and associations that are, at present ,in dormancy. The Chief Imam Of Emure-Ile , Alhaji Bedou.B Ijawoye and Reverend Oshide of Our Saviour's Anglican Church ,Emure-Ile were there as spiritual father to offer prayers for the club, its members, Elemure, the good people of the ancient town and the entire community as the new journey begins.

In a bid to foster unity and deepen love among themselves more than three decades ago as young school leavers, the pioneer members of the United Stars Club of Emure-Ile formed the association to translate their potentials and raw talents into monumental pride for their individual benefits and that of the kingdom. As a result of the aforementioned reasons and many others not revealed here, United Stars Club of Emure-Ile was established in July 1988.

Truth to their promise, conscious efforts , great leap and visionary leadership with audacity of hope in a future considered very long and starry but bright beyond these platoon of dreamers and unrepentant crusaders with lofty visions, great missions and outstanding mandate to change their  generation for the better,  these great minds set the ball rolling by christening themselves United Stars.  They unanimously agreed howbeit and made their pioneer president the highly cerebra, ambitious, futuristic and highly respectful lady and amazon ,Miss Caroline Ifedayo Odenusi then, but now Deaconess  (Mrs) Caroline Ifedayo Eniola-Ajipe due to her conjugal bliss with the ebullient and untiring legal luminary and progressive community leader, Barr. (Ch.) Eniola Ajipe, the Ailoyen of the community, a former president and two-term General Secretary of the association .

The United Stars Club thrived speedily under Musc Awosusi Samuel,a very dogged unrepentant fighter and trailblazer, who later entrusted leadership of the association in the hands of the brilliant Barr. E.  A Ajipe to manage. Under his watch as the president , the already solid foundation provided by the pioneer president and the dynamic Santos was consolidated. As a generational leader surrounded by great men and women who me are potential managers of men and materials, the club flourished and was placed on the pedestal of greatness and pride as a thing of envy to all. Patrons and patronesses were nominated aprecourse f many other clubs and associations. USC played the role of catalyst in Emure-Ile socio-cultural re-orientation, rejuvenation and re-engineering.

Great minds were selected as   presidents of association later as evidently shown by the calibre and timbre of personalities of the present and past coordinators. The list of  the legends swelled when immediately after Barr. (Ch) Alaba Eniola Ajipe as brilliant , compassionate and impulsive legal practitioner , Musc (Barr.) Adewumi William Fabuluje became the president. His tenure witnessed a thrilling harvest of enigmas and the club became a darling of the entire Emure-lle people.

Shortly after , Musc Sunday Ajegunmo Justus whose alias is JAS-T became the president. He was a fine administrator and refined democrat with cosmopolitan experience and background. He was also a technocrat with the sterling attributes epitomized by his brilliance, humility and genteel disposition being a firework of robust initiatives and fresh innovations just like his predecessors. His regime was indeed an admixtures of the constracting phases of life as most of the club members were neck deep in self-improvement endeavours. The  quiet but persuasive Pastor Agbede Adebisi Sunday, the iconic banker and financial expert mounted the rostrum for the club after him. Under his leadership too, many great pillars were attracted ,and the frontiers of the forum was expanded. However, the association had begun to witness challenges like absenteeism due to the members' quest for knowledge and greener pastures. They were extremely separated by commitment to personal growth and devotion to family building. This was a teething challenge rubber-stamped by apathy and trepidation as a result of the tension orchestrated by communal imbroglio of the period.Nevertheless, these dynamic and vibrant youths were focused, ambitious and useful to themselves, the community and the larger society as trailblazers in their chosen human endeavours.

Not too long , the mantle of leadership of the association felled for the second time on the shoulders of the seasoned civil servant and financial administrator in the rank and file of the forum. Musc Awosusi Samuel Olaniran, the Roman Catholic Catechist popularly known as SANTOS among his contemporaries stepped into the shoes previously won by the thro of by him and others like Musc Caroline (IFE), Musc Alaba ( LEFTAIN) , Musc Adewumi,  Musc Sunday JAS-T, and later Musc Sunday Agbede ( PERKINS).  With this change of baton of leadership , the development curve of the association climbed into its climax and there was a remarkable new beginning which later created a paradigm shift .

Pretty later, the curve slided into diminishing return own to community instigated predicaments. This was as a result of the mounting challenges of Obaship tussles that almost ,if not for the grace of God,  plunged the kingdom into extinction. Again, during the period ,a great numbers of United Stars Club's members were working or looking for jobs in and outside the community to make both ends meet while many others were trying to seek for more knowledge and paper credentials within the four falls of classrooms in the ivory towers in and outside Nigeria. The club however survived the storm when many other clubs and association previous formed before the crisis eventually went into oblivion but USC stood firmly like the Rock of Gibratar. Some of these clubs and associations include Dynamic Club, Ultimate Club,Crystal Elites Club, The Satellite Club, The Royal Club, Amuleya Cultural Group, Owolawa Cultural Group, Ifedapo Cultural Group, and too many others. Around 2005, the club was almost stepped into tempest ,and shortly after the road accident suffered by Musc Ayorinde now Ch. Fatukasi-Obaji, the club glided to a halt. Although the members were extremely separated by the wall of distance and partition of time, yet they are bonded by uncommonly great network of love ,unity and devotion which sustained the spirit of their brotherhood and comradeship and paved way for this reunion .

The incumbent president ,Musc Awosusi didn't rest on his oars as a workaholic and jackal he is. Musc to the club members means member of United Stars Club. Few days ago ,as previously stated ,the club celebrated its Re-union Feasting after seventeen years in hibernation after its inauguration by HRM, Elemure Japheth Adeyefa Ogundimibola (I) of cherished memory in the late 80's. This reunion ,to many ,is a wake-up call and a deafening clarion call to service to all.

The club apart from parading most of the tested and trusted managers of men and materials the community can boast of, it has also invested in a great number of areas that need  mention for the sake of history and posterity. The club for the resourcefulness and sophistication of its ranks and files decided to take a decisive step seventeen (17) years ago to forestall unity and understanding. They unanimously agreed within themselves to suspend physical meetings but interacted frequently on the family chains already built among themselves to continually help in the ongoing transformation agenda in Emure-Ile Kingdom.

According to the former presidents while speaking to Abejoye Media, their joy was full as they commended the incumbent president Mr Awosusi who was extremely bubbling with ecstasy for sustaining the club. As gathered from impeccable sources by Abejoye Media ,as at the last roll call of membership, the club members stood at 25. Apart from the presidents earlier mentioned, other members include Mr Adeyeye Victor( Locoster), Mr Oyinlade Bade, Mr Oyinlade Benson(Ayeku), Barr. Adewumi William Fabuluje, Mr Odogwu George,Mr Bisi Ogunla, Engr Alex Oguntimehin (Yoguro), Mr Tope Oloba, Mr Jimoh Oludare Ijawoye ( Lugard), Mr Malik Musa( Metie), Mr David Adebanji and Mr Sesan Lawal. Other are Ch. Gbende Faleye Oronbato, Mrs Toyin Adetula, Mrs Funmilayo Ife-Ajiwoye ,Mrs Daniyan Iyabo Nee Ogundeji, Mrs Taiwo Nee Osedimilehin and previously Mrs Hellen nee  Daramola. The men are constitutionally mandated to recruit their wives as members of the club.

Pretty important to mention is the fact that the club has previously initiated and carried out some capital projects within the community Among such gestures were the first Bus-Stop Shed at Emure-Ile Junction, previously mounted strategic Bill Boards, decipherable Sign-posts with street names , donation of Cash Prizes and Textbooks to Best Students of Community Grammar School,Emure-Ile, Coordination of Monthly Sanitation Exercises, Cash and material donations to community projects, impactful contributions to  Emure-Ile Day Anniversaries and in other several ways apart from the annual symposium organized to help the youth to develop along career paths

.Abejoye Media noted that the forum also initiated the registration of all Clubs and Associations in Emure-Ile under one umbrella, the defunct National Association of Emure-Ile Clubs and Associations ( NASSEICA) that had Mr Olanipekun Ojo as president,Miss Hellen Daramola as secretary and Barr. Alaba Ajipe as Treasurer among others . The club ,as also revealed by its members ,has consistently assisted members through its network in job opportunities provision and in both material and kind gestures.
After their reunion,a high profile delegation led by the incumbent president , Mr Samuel Awosusi visited the palace to intimate Elemure of their future plans. After the briefing by Ch. Ailoyen, he revealed that the club was planning to celebrate 35 years anniversary in 2023 as he stated that efforts were on top gear to realize the dream.

While reacting , HRM , Oba Simeon Adedubaje-Adeyefa (I) JP who received them warmly lauded the Initiative but prayed for God's protection over the entire members of the club while emphasizing the role of love and harmony among the members of USC. He however appealed passionately, " Emure-Ile Kingdom is expanding to our admiration. We are aware of the previous crisis, but we thank God for the speedy healing process. Let us be united as you must allow love to bond you all together. With your support like previously,we are convinced that a new kingdom will eventually emerge."

While thanking Elemure, the president noted the steady Royal Blessings and the constant support of  the revered mornach. Awosusi therefore thanked the Kabiyesi for his fatherly roles played at all times in the community, his commitment to and prayers for the club but reiterated the plan to celebrate annually and continually by starting with the 35-year anniversary next year.
