The detained leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) , the unrepentant fighter, Nnamidi Kani, has reportedly been removed as the Director of the organisation. He was immediately replaced with Sofia Chinyere Kalu, the National Financial Secretary,IPOB United Kingdom (UK).
According to Ezeji Chukwuma, according to the report gathered by Abejoye Media,the separatist who manages IPOB and Radio Biafra Community Interest Companies (CIC) Registry in London, UK, Kalu is the new Director of IPOB worldwide. This claim was corroborated by Simon Ekpa, a self-styled disciple of Nnamdi Kanu in his tweets on Twitter.
Emerging Revelations as scooped from the grapevines showed that Kalu’s father is an Igbo man from Nigeria while her mother is South African. This among other reasons could be responsible for the removal of the embattled IPOD leader.
In his tweets, Ekpa asked, “Who are those who removed Mazi Nnamdi Kanu from being the leader of Indigenous people of Biafra world wide?” on Wednesday's night.
In a subsequent broadcast , monitored by this Abejoye Media Ekpa claimed, “They want to use a woman who knows nothing about the Biafran struggle to destroy Mazi Nnamdi Kanu”. This position he further condemned and described as effort in futility.
On paper, Kanu who has been in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS) since June 2021 has been removed as the leader of IPOB according to Ekpa . However he cited a March 5 Memo to IPOB UK members by its Directorate of States (DoS), headed by Chika Edoziem.
