PDP Waxes Stronger in Owo LGA As More Political Gladiators Join the Umbrella Party in Ehin-Ogbe Ward (I)

It was a great thing to behold today at Ehin-Ogbe,the political ward of the former Deputy Speaker in the 8th Assemby ,Hon. Ayo Arowelele  and the former Attorney-General and Commisioner for Justice,Kola Olawoye SAN of the State as scores of political heavyweights decamped from APC and Z-Labour Party into the PDP.  

Hon. Ayodeji Alasi, a former Councilor in the LGA under Late Hon. Akin Arowolo Aruwajoye-led administration as Chairman of Owo local government  council. He led many decampees back to the the PDP. Some of the political bigwigs in the ward who returned/defected with him include former party LP Chairman, Mr Balogun jimoh ; Mr Niran Adelegan, Mrs Ojo Aina, Mr Adebisi Olukayode,Hon. Ayomide Afolabi Alagbada and High Chief Adanigbo Akanrakiri. Others in the PDP Re-union Group include Mr Aliu Musa, Mr Abdullai Abdurafiu and Mrs Raimi Silifat among others too numerous to mention.

While receiving the decampees/returnees, High Ch Asaba, the PDP Chairman,Owo LG Chapter saluted Hon. Ogundeji Alasi and others for their great courage  to reunite with the PDP at long last. He however charged them to ensure that others in the political wilderness return to the PDP fold. " Ehin-Ogbe Ward is indeed number one. This is the third time I will be visiting to receive new entrants, returnees or decampees. When I was in abroad, I used to hear Alasi, Alhaji CSO. They were the fathers of PDP then. Hon. Alasi served in various capacities just like others but left because they were aggrieved. It good that you all know that there is no place like home. I thank you for your return as I also welcome others formally. There is room enough for all in our great party. There won't be any form of discrimination now that you are all back. "

While speaking on the reasons of their returns, Hon. Alasi Ayodeji chronicled his political ordeal from PDP to ADC then to APC. He explained," We left PDP due to Gbasibe/ Konigba political shenanigans. We were denied all sense of belonging by Hon. Onishile, Hon. Gbenga Aro and other stakeholders from the LP. We left with Ch. Osennuwa, former Marshall Officer in Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corp(NSCDC),a chieftain of the PDP to Advanced Democratic Congress (ADC); again due internal wrangling to APC. Eventually we joined the APC to support the Owo Agenda." He further revealed," APC is a Mafia Cult. It's never a party at all. Ch. Osennuwa was given a slot and he gave it to me but I was denied for flimsy excuses. It's the height of impunity. This is awfully as it stands logic in the head after investment of huge labour. "  " I have made up my mind to return home. There is surely no place like home."

According to Alhaji CSO, he noted that he didn't join any political party. "I decided to work for Owo Agenda as I was not recognized by the party where I was once a kingmaker as one of its pioneer member. The Gbasibe/ Konigba dicotomy was a great political holocaust. It's both painful and regrettable."  He finally declared," We have decided to come back to help rebuild the party to have a winning status once again. "

For Mr Jimoh Balogun the story was a bit different. "I told my Executive Committee members as Chairman to allow me safeguard my job by joining the APC. Because they couldn't leave me,they decided to move with me. It was very unfortunate but I couldn't help the situation."  He further lamented," APC is not a place to be. You can never know what is going on there no matter how hard you try to. It's like a cult." He concluded by saying that they had returned home to add value to our great party. 

Mrs Ojo Aina's story wasn't different. It was a treatise of painful sojourn and cruel memories. According to her, " We have come back for good. Please, give us a sense of belonging. This is our home. There is no sweeter place than home."

It was also newsworthy to know that a very young, vibrant and dynamic member of Z-Labour Party , Comr. Olakunle Adedeji who was the party candidate for the position of member,Ondo State House of Assemby in 2019 also led others to join the PDP in their numbers. As found out from impeccable sources by Abejoye Media especially from the Chairman of the Wards ,Hon. Ojo Bolanle Alayamesan,the former Concillor of the ward under the embattled Hon. Oluwole Folahanm (Ultimate)-led Executive Chairmanship of the local government council and other notable political stakeholders in the ward,Comr Adedeji had previously made known his intention to pursue his aspiration one again under the umbrella party. While speaking to Abejoye Media, Comr Adedeji explained , " I have joined the PDP to access a broader platform for my aspiration anchored on the good welfare of my Constituents. In fact, PDP is the only true party with working structures from the ward to the national level." He also vehemently revealed and emphasized," I want to join forces with other concerned citizens especially in the PDP to rescue Nigeria from the tyrannical marauders found in the APC now the wicked occupants of the corridors of power. This is my resolute resolve and there is no going back."

With this understanding, everything is set to deliver the ward for the PDP in the next round of elections. However, it's also noted that three aspirants so far have expressed their interest in the coveted position of Member ,House of Assemby in the ward. The incumbent Local Government Youth Leader and former Supervisory Councilor ,Hon. Samuel Adeyeri a.k.a Ashami, the CEO of Shamrock Club and Bar was the first to throw himself into the political ring . Shortly after his declaration, Hon. Olabode Ijalana popularly known as BBC ,a prospective member of Owo Recreation Club and a very progressive young man had also expressed his interest for the same office just like Comr. Olakunle Adedeji ,one of the pioneer member of Owo Youth Alliance ( OYA) had done recently before his official defection today.

They all have Ch. Abiodun Adebayo Ibrahim , the Adafen Olomiyete of Iloro Quarter, Owo popularly known as Abbey ShopRite ,a worthy philanthropist and magnanimous ShopRite Manager to content with in the primary as at the time of filing this report.

According to rumour making rounds in the ward as scooped from the grapevines by Abejoye Media, all is now set for Hon. Arowelele, a two-term member of the State Hallowed Chamber to declare his aspiration for the elective position of member ,House of Representatives.Barring all unforseen circumstances, this may happen in the following week as rumoured.

At today's political jamboree ,the Local Government Party Chairman,High Ch. Idris Okeowo Olafimihan-Asaba,who doubles as the Oluloro of Iloro was accompanied by other party leaders , opinion stakeholders, members of local Government Executive Committee like the LG Publicity Secretary, Akogun Olaniyi Folahanmi the local government Youth Leader from grace the ward, Hon. Samuel Adeyeri to the event aside party leaders and stakeholders in the ward like Hon. Ojo Filani- Secretary, PDP Elders' Council; Hon. Niran Onishile , former Special Adviser to HE, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, Hon. Gbenga Aro,a notable leader and former Subeb Secretary ,Hon. Olagoke Osennuwa ,former Supervisor for Agriculture but now a LG Ex-officio and the Ward Executive Committee members like the Youth Leader,Shashamura and the woman leader,Mrs Balogun among others.

Engr Alex Akinyemi Jnr ,a seasoned engineer with foreign expertise , a worthy philanthropist and the founder of Legacy Foundation was also seen at the venue with his supporters. Engr Alex Owen Akinyemi Jnr is one of the gladiators eyeing the coveted seat of Member, House of Representatives .

The event was a positive signal that the PDP is getting ready to rescue Nigeria. This  reunion is coming up today after the PDP displayed brilliant electoral performance as it won the Chairmanship of the Abuja Area Council and many Councilor seats last Saturday.
