It was an unprecedented gale of defection today as Mr Tunbosun Adeloye,former Local Government Legal Adviser and one time councilorship aspirant under the PDP who have previously defected to APC rejoined the party at Iloro Ward 6, the political ward of the PDP Chairman , High Ch. Okeowo Idris Olafimihan-Asaba and the State Auditor ,High Ch. Abiodun Adebayo, the Adafen Olomiyete of Iloro Quarter, Owo LGA.
This came a day after Ch. Olomiyete popularly known as Abbey ShopRite , the illustrious son of Owo Kingdom and one of the leading aspirants for coveted seat of Member, Ondo State House of Assembly, Owo Constituency (I) met with the delegates: Ward Chairmen, Vice-Chairmen, Ward Secretary, Ward Youth Leaders and Ward Women Leaders as well as all the local government Party hierarchies who are the principal officers of the party from the five wards of Ehin-Ogbe Ward 1, Igboroko I Ward 2 ,Igboroko 2 Ward 3, Iloro Ward 6 and Upenmen/Isuada, Idasen/ Obsooto Ward 9.
During the defection, the local government party Chairman, High Ch. Asaba was extremely happy while receiving the decampees led by Mr Tunbosun Adeloye.He applauded the his great decision to return home while also saluting his courage for taking such a rare bold step in the right direction. In his words, " The faces I'm seeing here today are not those of our members. They are gladiators from APC and other political parties Chiefly ADC and SDP. This is indeed a great harvest. I welcome Mr Adeloye ,a big fish and other decampees who follow him. I'm happy to receive you all. There will be a level plain ground for you all to operate freely. This I can assure you. "
Asaba thereafter used the occasion to call on others who are not ready yet to join the train to follow suit before it's too late. " There is nothing in the APC. You have tasted and tested the party already; now you have seen the difference which is clear. PDP is the party to beat, please join the moving train."
In his reaction, Mr Tunbosun Adeloye, the leader of the decampees while speaking on their behalf maintained that the ruling APC is a killer party that has plunged Nigeria into anomie and chaos. According to him," APC is a disaster. We regretted our decision to join them previously. We are indeed taking this grave decision now because we have learnt our lessons in a bitter way." He further stressed ," This is not the time for campaign. At the appropriate time,we shall campaign from unit to unit and house to house. As it's,we have also seen enough convincing reasons to return home after our unfruitful and regretted sojourn in the APC. "
" Abbey ShopRite is a friend of all and our brothers here in Iloro Quarter. He is a High Chief with unblemished reputation and a good community leader. He is one of the principal State Executive Officers of PDP apart from the Party Chairman of the local government, our respected High Ch. Asaba and the local government Assistant Publicity Secretary, Mr Bosun Osere. We cannot be more recognized by a party with well-defined structure in Nigeria than this. "

To show our appreciations therefore, we decided long time ago to join forces with the State Auditor of the PDP, High Ch. Abiodun Adebayo , the Adafen Olomiyete of Iloro to move this party forward as critical stakeholders. We shall vehemently support his political ambition with our resources and time ,and also work hard by putting our hands on the plough. There is no going back. Pretty soon,the civil servants among us shall definitely show their physical support and commitment. This is our pledge. We shall help ground the APC in Iloro very soon to demonstrate our loyalty and resolve."
Notable among the decampees today are Mr Sunday Elemure , the incumbent SDP Chairman, Iloro; Mr Oloye Biodun - the current Publicity Secretary, SDP;Mr Adeloye Tunde Marock, the incumbent ADC Chairman ,Iloro ; and some APC critical stakeholders like Mr Adeloye Goke, Mr Ogundare Kehinde, Mr
Ajetumobi Tunde,Mr Ogedengbe Ojo, Mr Seun , Mr Ogunla Bunmi; and Mr Ogunbodede Owolabi who customized many fez caps for Abbey ShopRite" aspiration. Other decampees include
Arigidi Group led by Mrs Aduke Sunday (Iron Lady) from APC and Mrs Folake Adewale also from APC .
At Arigidi ,Iloro where the political jamboree took place, the Ward Executive Committee members and stakeholders led by Hon. Kehinde Ogunmolawa ,a former Special Adviser on Political Mobilization in the local government council but now the Vice-Chairman of the ward; the Ward Women Leader- Mrs Usman Adelanke; and the Ward Youth Leader- Mr Aruna Adafen were conspicuously around as well the LG Officer who was formerly the legal adviser but now the LG Assistant Publicity Secretary from Iloro, Mr Bosun Osere.
High Ch. Abiodun Adebayo a.k.a Abbey ShopRite and MHA aspirant;the Secretary of the PDP Elder Council and former Caretaker Chairman of Owo LG Council- Hon. Ojo Filani ; and the Ondo North Senatorial Youth Leader, Hon. Nasirudeen I. Boboye-Ijawoye,who is also the Assistant Secretary of Ondo State PDP Support Group ( PSG) and Secretary , The Democracy Promoters ( TDP) ,an online PDP platform were also there during the defection in addition to the local government party Executive members like the Vice-Chairman, Ch. Segun Ayileka; the LG party Secretary, Hon. Adebo Afolabi; the Legal Adviser, Hon. Modebola Fadimine; the LG Financial Secretary, Mr Bimbo Okoro and some Ward Chairmen like Mr Fayemi Onifade ( Iyere Ward 10); Ch. Oronbato Uwee( Igboroko 2 Ward 3) and too many other critical stakeholders.
